Honda is a known name in India that has been catering to the vast customer base. Revered for its premium models, Honda spearheaded into the volume segment with Brio, though it could not recreate the magic after an initial spark. While City sedan has been consistently doing well and is now readying for another generation leap, details on which are given later in the article, the company is also working on facelifts and new-gen versions of its existing cars.

Besides, the automaker has recently launched the BS6 compliant Honda Amaze and the City petrol sedan in the country. In this compilation, we bring you the complete list of upcoming Honda cars slated to launch in 2020 and 2021, read on to know more.

Upcoming Honda Cars

New Honda City

First model in our list of upcoming Honda Cars in India is the new-gen City sedan, which is scheduled to be launched in May 2020. It is based on the modified version of the existing platform, which also underpins the new-gen Jazz on sale in global markets. The new-gen generation model is already on sale in the Thailand market. It receives 5-star crash test rating in the ASEAN NCAP. The 2020 Honda City is significantly bigger than the previous model. It measures 4,549mm long, 1,748mm wide and 1,489mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. It is 109mm longer, 53mm wider and 6mm shorter than the outgoing car.

The new-gen Honda City will receive a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which will offer a maximum power output of 119bhp at 6,600rpm and a peak torque of 145Nm at 4,600rpm. On the other hand, the diesel version will receive the BSVI compliant 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine producing 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both manual and CVT versions will be on offer.

Honda WR-V facelift

Japanese automaker, Honda will launch the upgraded version of the WR-V in the Indian market. The 2020 WRV facelift will receive subtle design changes and feature upgrades along with the BS6-compliant engines. The Honda WR-V facelift will retain most of the design elements. It gets new grille with multiple horizontal slats, revised front bumper with pronounced creases and slightly less black cladding on the bottom, and faux skid plate. Side and rear profile are likely to remain the same. It is expected to receive new upholstery for seats and upgraded infotainment system.

The 2020 Honda WR-V facelift will be offered with BSVI compliant 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. While the former is good for 89bhp and 110Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

BS6 Honda Jazz

The next model in our list of upcoming Honda Cars in India is the new BSVI compliant Jazz hatchback. The updated model will receive minor design changes, and upgraded engines. The BSVI compliant Jazz will be offered with 2 engine options – a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel. While the former produces 89bhp and 110Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic (Petrol Only). The changes will be in-line with the WR-V facelift, and is likely to receive revised grille and reprofiled bumpers. Inside the cabin, the new Jazz is likely to get new upholstery for seats and updated infotainment system with modern connectivity features.

Honda Compact SUV

It is no secret that Honda is working on a wide range of SUVs including the next-gen HR-V, a sub-4 meter SUV and an all-new compact SUV (between sub-4 meter SUV and the next HR-V). The sub-4 meter SUV and the new compact SUV will be based on the new-gen City platform, while the next-gen HR-V will mark the debut of brand’s new platform. The company is likely to launch an all-new compact SUV in India in the next couple of years. It is likely to be a mid-sized SUV, which will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the Kia Seltos. The company could also launch the sub-4 meter SUV to rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Kia Sonet.

Honda Amaze facelift

It is reported that Honda has started working on the facelift version of the Amaze compact sedan, which is expected to be launched in our market in 2021. The updated model will receive cosmetic design changes in the form of upgraded grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, reworked front and rear bumper as well as revised LED tail-lights. The cabin of the Amaze facelift is likely to receive new touchscreen infotainment system, new seat upholstery and upgraded features. Powertrain options will include a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel producing 89bhp/110Nm and 99bhp/200Nm respectively. while paired to a CVT unit, the diesel engine produces  79bhp and 160Nm of torque.
