Korean auto-giant, Hyundai will launch the updated version of the Creta compact SUV this year. If media reports are to be believed, the Creta facelift will go on sale in the country in August, 2018. It is expected that India-spec model will share design cues from the Brazilian model. This model is expected to get Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, revised headlamps, new alloy wheels and revised taillights. The cabin is also expected to receive few changes in the form of new features like sunroof and updated touchscreen infotainment system. Mechanically, it will remain the same. It was speculated that Honda will unveil the updated Jazz hatchback at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo; that didn’t happen. It is expected that the Jazz facelift will go on sale in the second half of this year. The 2018 Jazz has already been launched in the European markets. It will receive subtle design changes and upgraded cabin. Besides, the hatchback will offer better NVH levels. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines.
India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki will launch the thoroughly updated Ciaz mid-sized in India in the second half of 2018. The new model will be more premium than the current car. It will come with revised touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The new model is also speculated to get a newly developed 1.5-litre diesel engine.
Homegrown automaker, Mahindra is gearing up to give a major upgrade to its popular SUV – XUV500. The new model will sport new front fascia with new grille, revised bumper and headlamps with DRLs. At the back, the SUV gets newly designed taillights and revised tailgate. The cabin will see new features, dashboard with soft-touch materials and new seat upholstery. It is expected to get a revised touchscreen infotainment system with connected car applications. The SUV will be powered by a newly developed 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that is likely to produce around 170bhp of power.
In a bid to improve sales, Ford India is planning to give a major facelifts to its popular cars including Aspire and Figo. The new models will receive several design changes, which will be in-line with new EcoSport. The cabin will receive a newly developed touchscreen infotainment system which is expected to be sourced from EcoSport. Adding to it, both models will be powered by a newly developed 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine.
