Upcoming 7-Seater Family Cars In Coming Months (Expected)

In coming months, we will witness several new and important car launches across segments. Talking about the 7-seater family cars, there will be at least 4 major products from Mahindra, Nissan, Citroen and Maruti Suzuki. Here’re some key details of the soon-to-be-launched family cars (SUVs/MPVs).

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Mahindra bolero neo plus 7 seater

The extended version of the Mahindra Bolero Neo SUV is reported to hit roads in coming months. The model will be named Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus that will come in three variants – P4, P10 and P10 (R). Buyers will gets its 7 and 9-seater versions along with an ambulance variant. Compared to its younger sibling, the Bolero Neo Plus will be 400mm longer measuring around 4400mm in length. Its width and height will stand at 1795mm and 1812mm respectively. Under the hood, the SUV will employ a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine making 94bhp in Economy mode and 120bhp in Power mode. Nissan X-Trail

Nissan X-Trail Hybrid

Nissan India will foray into the 7-seater family car or SUV segment with the X-Trail that’s currently in its testing phase. The model is reported to witness a release in mid 2023. The carmaker will bring in its both 5 and 7-seater versions with hybrid powertrain options. In global markets, the Nissan X-Trail comes with the 1.5L turbo petrol mild hybrid and strong hybrid tech. In terms of features, the SUV offers Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) along with features such as a 10.8-inch HUD, 360 degree camera, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electronic parking brake, tri-zone climate control, LED headlamps and an electric tailgate. Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen C3 Roof

Citroen C3 Aircross will be the next big offering from the French automaker in India. The SUV will come in 5-seats and 7-seats layouts and petrol and electric powertrain options. While its petrol version is reported to go on sale during 2023 festive season, the latter will arrive sometime in 2025. The former might get the 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo gasoline motor delivering power worth 110bhp and 190Nm of torque. The SUV will be based on the C3 hatchback and share most of its design elements and features with its donor sibling. Maruti 7-Seater MPV

Maruti MPV Hycross

Maruti Suzuki’s three-row MPV is one of the much-awaited upcoming 7-seater family cars that will be launched this year. While there is no official word on its launch timeline, the model is reported to arrive during 2023 Diwali season. It will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross featuring slightly different design elements such as a new front grille, bumper and headlamps. Interestingly, it will be the first car from Maruti Suzuki to come with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Similar to the Innova Hycross, it will come with the 172bhp, 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 186bhp, 2.0L strong hybrid powertrains. More details here…
