The American motorcycle manufacturer, UM Motorcycles had marked its entry in the Indian market with the launch of the UM Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and Renegade Classic. Within the first year of its Indian operations, the company has also spread out its dealership network across the country. Now, the bikemaker is planning to spread out its lineup with new edition of the existing Renegade Commando cruiser.
Speaking to IAB, Mr Rajeev Mishra, Director Operations UM India & CEO at UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt Ltd, revealed that the company will introduce a new UM Renegade Commando Mojave edition in October or November 2017. This special edition will be a tribute to Mojave desert in North America, which is renowned for its difficult desert track.
Powering the UM Renegade Commando Mojave edition will be the same 279 cc water cooled, single cylinder engine that does duty in the Renegade range. This motor, with a 6-speed gearbox, dishes out 25bhp at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Similar to the regular model, this limited edition will come with 41mm front and twin hydraulic with spring rear suspension setup.
Features on offered on the bike include a digital speedometer, USB charging, low seat height and rear wider tyres. The bike also has a storage area below the rear seat. Coming to the pricing the new UM Renegade Commando Mojave edition will be priced slightly on higher notch than the regular model that costs Rs 1.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
