New TVS Victor 2016 comes fitted with a 9.6bhp, 110cc, 3-valve, engine that is benefited with EcoThrust technology.

October 14, 2016 – TVS Motor Company has announced that it has sold 1 lakh units of the new Victor in the country. Launched early this year , the TVS Victor has achieved this sales milestone within short duration of nine months. With an average monthly sales of 10,000 units, the commuter has helped the bikemaker achieve 8% market share in the two-wheeler segment. Seeing the high demand for the new TVS Victor 2016, the Hosur-based bikemaker is confident of achieving 10-12% market share in the domestic market in next couple of years.

Speaking on the new sales milestone, TVS, Vice President – Marketing (Motorcycles), Arun Siddharth said, “We are delighted to have 1 lakh families join us on this journey to spread smiles. It is our endeavour to add more members to the growing family of TVS Victor and we are confident that we will build on the growth momentum.”

The new TVS Victor 2016 was launched in the country at a starting price of Rs. 49, 490 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since the 2016 Victor model is positioned above the Star City+ and Star City Sport, it is slightly more upmarket than the previous model. The new TVS Victor bike rivals the Bajaj Discover, Honda Livo, Mahindra Centuro, Hero Passion Pro and others 100cc-110cc bikes in the segment.

With new styling, additional features and affordable pricing, the bike targets entry-level executive motorcycle buyers. After splitting with Suzuki, the TVS Victor was the first bike manufactured by the home-grown automaker that gave a great start to the new company. Long story short, it’s the Victor that helped TVS reach where it is today – a successful home-grown bikemaker.

Power for the new TVS Victor comes from a 110cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is claimed to offer best-in-class acceleration. This powertrain is boosted with EcoThrust technology, and delivers a maximum power of 9.4bhp at 8,000rpm, while producing a peak torque of 9.4Nm at 6,000rpm. Transmission duties are performed by a 4-speed gearbox. The bike comes with an electric start system.

The bike borrows some of its styling bits from the previous model. Though, it shares certain design graphics with some new-age TVS motorcycles as well. It features a 55W headlight, 5-spoke alloy rims with tubeless tyres, stainless steel handlebar, dual rear shock absorbers, clear lens turn indicators and black tail pipe. It also gets a conventional heel-and-toe gear shifter. The bike offers the longest and widest seat in its league. Based on a single cradle tubular frame, the new Victor model weighs 112kg (drum) and 113kg (disc). It has a wheelbase of 1,260mm, and a ground clearance of 175mm. It offers a fuel tank capacity of 8-litres, including 2-litre of reserve.
