TVS Motor Company has sent a ‘block your date’ invite to automotive media publications including us. The event will be held on August 23, 2018 in Chennai. Interestingly, the two-wheeler maker hasn’t revealed the product name and details.
We believe that it could be the new iQube hybrid scooter or the Jupiter 125 scooter. The former was first previewed in its concept form at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2010, the latter was recently spotted testing in the country.
Talking about the TVS iQube, this hybrid scooter might come with a 110cc, single-cylinder engine coupled to an electric motor with a lithium-ion battery pack. For recharging the battery, the hybrid system will use the brake energy regeneration system. Some of its key features include LED headlights and tail lamps, a single seat, pillion footrest, an all-digital instrument cluster and electric start system. There is a possibility that the Chennai-based bikemaker will launch the more powerful iteration of the Jupiter scooter. Called the TVS Jupiter 125, the scooter will source its power from a 125cc engine with fuel injection technology. The TVS Jupiter 125, however, will get new sunlit ivory paint scheme along with features such as dual tone seat, chromed mirrors and USB charger. The test mule confirmed that the scooter will feature front telescopic suspension and alloy wheels.
