TVS Scooty Pep+ Special Edition Launched – What’s New?

TVS Motor Company has rolled out a special edition of the Scooty Pep+ ahead of Pongal festival. Priced at Rs 56,085 (ex-showroom, Chennai), the TVS Scooty Pep+ Mudhal Kadhal Edition will be sold for limited during only in Tamil Nadu. The special edition has been adorned with a logo in Tamil along with new decals and a new colour scheme. No other changes have been made to the Scooty Pep+.

Similar to the regular mode, the new TVS Scooty Pep+ Mudhal Kadhal Edition comes with BS6-compliant 87.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine benefited with EcoThrust technology. The system not only improves fuel economy, but enhances pickup performance of the vehicle. The motor pushes out a peak power of 5bhp at 6,500rpm and a maximum torque of 5.8Nm at 4,000rpm. For performing transmission duties, the new TVS Scooty Pep+ edition has a CVT automatic gearbox.

The regular Scooty Pep+ has been made available in 9 colour options – Nero Blue, Nero Brown, Princess Pink, Revving Red, Vivacious Purple, Glittery Gold Frosted Black. The model comes with the brand’s patented ‘Eazy’ Stand technology that reduces the effort to put the vehicle on the centre standby 30%. Some of its key features include front bag hook, a USB port, a mobile charger socket, side-stand alarm, under seat bag hooks, under-seat storage and a glove box.

In other updates, the Chennai-based bikemaker registered four trademark applications for its upcoming products – Retron, Fiero, Raider and Zeppline R. As of now, there is no official information about the upcoming new TVS bikes and scooters. Though, the reports suggest that the company might foray into the 125cc motorcycle segment with TVS Fiero.

The TVS Retron could be a new retro-classic variant of the Radeon commuter or a new electric scooter from the bikemaker.  The company might introduce a new 200cc adventure motorcycle based on the Apache RR 310’s platform and its production model might be named TVS Raider. The TVS Zeppelin R nameplate could be used for the cruiser motorcycle that will challenge Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Honda CB350.
