It’s no secret that TVS Motor Company is working on an electric scooter for the Indian market. In fact, the company has begun testing the vehicle and we have seen a few spy pictures revealing its subtle design details. A latest carandbike report claims that the new TVS electric scooter will go on sale in the first half of 2018.
The launch details are confirmed by TVS President and CEO, KN Radhakrisnan who revealed that the company is working on the new TVS electric scooter project and the production-ready version of the vehicle will see a release in coming 6 to 9 months. Read – TVS Jupiter 125: Launch & Other Details
New TVS Electric Scooter Spy Pictures
Most of the design bits and components of the new TVS electric scooter will be carried over from the current TVS scooters such as Jupiter, Scooty Zest and Wego. A completely camouflaged prototype of the scooter was spotted during charging in Bengaluru. The pictures reveal the handlebar integrated inbound wiring and extra buttons and the brand’s signature logo on the instruments. Read – TVS Apache RR 310S Coming Soon
The new TVS electric scooter will be based on the Jupiter, and share most of its features and components with its donor sibling. Similar to the Jupiter, it will come with a lightly stepped and comfortable seat. For performing braking duties, the scooter will have drum brakes on both the ends. The suspension system will consist of a new monoshock unit at the rear axle.
Riding on alloy wheels, the new TVS electric scooter will also get a roomy flat floorboard, flush-fitted turn indicators and bag storage hooks. In pictures, one can see the exposed wires indicating that the battery system will lie centrally beneath the seat. The powertrain positioning might alter the under-seat storage space of the scooter. New TVS Electric Scooter Launch Date
TVS Motor Company will introduce its first electric scooter in the Indian market in coming months. A media report suggests that the company will bring in the vehicle in coming 6 to 9 months. To be more precise, it will be rolled out in the first half of 2018. Prior to the launch, the scooter might make its public appearance at the Auto Expo which is scheduled to happen in February 2018. New TVS Electric Scooter Price in India
With electric powertrain and new features, the TVS electric scooter will be positioned as a more premium product than the Jupiter and Wego. So, it will be pricier than the other two.
