TVS Apache RR 310 has overtaken the KTM Duke 390 and RC390 (combined) in sales terms in March, 2018. While the former registered a total sales of 983 units, the latter two clocked a combined sales of 716 units. Compared to last year’s March sales figures, the KTM Duke 390 and RC390 witnessed a drop of 18 percent in March 2018.
As of now, TVS Motor Company is retailing the Apache RR 310 from its 50 dealerships across the nation. In the first month of its arrival (December, 2017), the performance bike recorded a total sales of 66 units only. It grew to 242 units and 353 units in January and February, 2018 respectively. Considering the demand of the Apache RR 310, the company is gradually increasing production of the bike. It was reported that the bike is commanding a waiting period up to four months across all major cities. The bikemaker aims to sell 10,000 units of the performance bike in its first year.
Recently, TVS increased prices of the Apache RR 310 by Rs 8,000. Initially, it was launched at Rs 2.05 lakh and after the price hike it costs Rs 2.13 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi). In Kerala, however, the bike is still available at Rs 1.99 lakh.
Developed jointly by TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad, the TVS Apache RR 310 is the fastest and most powerful motorcycle in its segment. Interestingly, it also the company’s first bike to get a reverse inclined engine. Based on the Akula 310 concept, the Apache RR 310 makes use of a 33.5bhp, 312.2cc, single-cylinder DOHC engine.
