Triumph Trident 660 India Launch Date Announced; Expected Price, Specs

British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph will launch the Trident 660 entry-level, sport naked motorcycle in the Indian market on April 6, 2021. It will be the most affordable Triumph motorcycle in our market. Expected to be priced under Rs 7 lakh, the Triumph Trident 660 will be launched as a CKD unit.

The upcoming Trident 660 will directly rival the Kawasaki Z650. Powering the motorcycle is a 660cc, liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 80bhp at 10,250rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 6,250rpm. It is claimed to be a completely new engine, as it features 67 new components. This engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Triumph claims that the 660cc motorcycle has an impressive service interval of 16,000km.

The Triumph Trident 660 comes equipped with a Showa upside down separate function fork at the front and preload-adjustable monoshock at the back. It gets a Nissin two-piston front caliper with twin 310mm discs and a single-piston caliper with 255mm disc at the rear. Based on the Tubular steel perimeter frame, the Trident 660 rides on 17-inch alloys shod with 120/70R17 and 180/55R17 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The bike will get Michelin Road 5 tyres.

The Trident 660 weighs 189kgs, and offers a fuel tank of 14-litres capacity. It is equipped with TFT instrument console, which supports My Triumph connectivity system with turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control, and phone and music operations. In terms of features, the bike gets full LED headlight, integrated rear light and self cancelling LED indicators. The motorcycle offers adjustable traction control, ride-by-wire, assist clutch, Triumph Shift Assist and two riding modes – Road and Rain.

The motorcycle is also expected to come with multiple accessories such as coloured flyscreen, classic bar end mirrors, aluminium bellypan, frame protection, front axle protectors, engine cover protection and tank pad.
