Triumph Rocket 3 GT Launched – 4 Important Facts To Know

Triumph Motorcycles has further expanded the Rocket 3 R model lineup with the addition of a new touring-oriented variant – the Triumph Rocket 3 GT. Priced at Rs 18.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the new model is around Rs 40,000 more expensive than the standard version. At this price point, it takes head-to-head against the Ducati Diavel 1260 S. Here’re 4 important facts to know about the Rocket 3R’s new touring variant.

1. World’s Biggest Production Bike Engine

Similar to the regular model, the Triumph Rocket 3 GT derives its power from a 2,500cc, 3-cylinder in-line engine that’s good for 165bhp and 221Nm of torque. Interestingly, it’s the world’s biggest production motorcycle engine offering the best-in-class torque. The bike comes with four ride modes – Road, Sport, Rain and fully configurable Rider. Its suspension setup includes 47 mm inverted Showa forks, with compression and rebound adjustment and a Showa piggyback reservoir with remote hydraulic preload adjustment at the rear end.

2. Better Ergonomics & Styling

Compared to the standard model, the new GT touring variant looks slightly different and offers better ergonomics with a touring-style handlebar and forward-set footpegs. It carries a taller windscreen, heated grips, adjustable pillion footrests and a pillion backrest. Features such as twin-LED headlamps, single-sided swingarm, a cropped rear fender and full-colour TFT display are carried over from the standard model. 3. Some Extra Features

On the feature front, the Rocket 3 GT offers ride-by-wire, a full-colour TFT instrument console with the optional Triumph TFT Connectivity System. There is a five-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) transmitting power while cornering anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction control system. The list of standard features also includes keyless ignition, cruise control and hill hold system. Features such as integrated phone and music operations, turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control and tyre pressure monitoring system are optional offerings.

4. Colours, Accessories

The Rocket 3 GT has been offered in two colour schemes – Silver Ice with Storm Grey and Phantom Black. The bikemaker is offering around 50 new accessories with the new touring variant including a new ‘Highway’ Inspiration Kit, a full range of luggage and many more.
