Toyota Yaris CVT Variants In Great Demand; Waiting Period Increased

The CVT automatic variants of the Toyota Yaris sedan account 66 percent of the total bookings.

Toyota Yaris mid-size sedan went on sale last week at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Though, the prices of the carline were revealed last month and its bookings were opened a month before of its price announcement. Positioned against the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, the Yaris has received 5,000 bookings so far.

Interestingly, the CVT automatic variants of the sedan are high in demand accounting 66 percent (i.e. over 2/3rd) of the total bookings. The Yaris carline is spread across the four trims – J, G, V and VX – packed with a 1.5L petrol engine. All trims are available with the CVT automatic gearbox option. Prices of the Yaris manual variants fall in the range of Rs 8.75 lakh (for the entry-level J trim) and go up to Rs 12.85 lakh (for the top-spec VX trim). The mid-level G and V manual versions are priced at Rs 10.56 lakh and Rs 11.70 lakh respectively. The CVT automatic J, G, V and VX trims have been made available at Rs 9.95 lakh, Rs 11.76 lakh, Rs 12.90 lakh and Rs 14.07 lakh respectively. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol powertrain of the Yaris delivers power worth 105bhp at 6,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 4,200rpm. This oil burner has an electronic speed limit of 170kmph. The sedan comes with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT transmission options.

Toyota offers a host of comfort features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink connectivity, built-in navigation and Bluetooth, 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat (first-in-segment), automatic climate control, roof mounted AC vent, ambient lighting, start-stop button with keyless entry and more. Read – Toyota Alphard Luxury MPV Is Coming To India

The Yaris is one of the safest cars in its league offering 7 airbags and ABS with EBD as standard fitments. Features such as reverse parking sensors and camera, front proximity sensors, an electronic stability program, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist and cruise control are also on offer.
