Toyota-Suzuki To Develop Marazzo Challenger

Maruti Toyota MPV India

Aiming to boost growth and maintain its market share, Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand its footprints in the sports utility vehicles (SUV) and multipurpose vehicles (MPV) segments that currently worth up to Rs 20 lakh. The Indo-Japanese carmaker will foray into mid-size SUV space sometime in 2022.

The new Maruti Suzuki compact SUV will face challenge from cars like Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. It will share the platform with the Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV. Besides a new mid-size SUV, Maruti Suzuki will develop a C-segment MPV under its alliance with Toyota Motor Corporation.

The new MPV from Maruti Suzuki-Toyota JV will hit roads sometime in 2023. Toyota’s Bidadi based plant is likely to serve as production hub for the new MPV and compact SUV. Both vehicles will carry unique design and features unlike the re-badged models that come under the Maruti and Toyota agreement of sharing models.
