Both models scored 64 PP100 (problems per 100 vehicles).

The result of J.D. Power 2018 India Initial Quality Study (IQS) has been released and Maruti Suzuki tops the chart with 5 model-level awards. Interestingly, the Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Bolero has a tie in the MUV/MPV segment. Both models scored 64 PP100 (problems per 100 vehicles).

The third spot in the segment was grabbed by Maruti Suzuki Ertiga that received 69 PP100. The average score of the MUV/MPV segment stood at 67 PP100. J.D. Power study reveals that the car owners who have driven their vehicles for over 7,000 km in their initial 2-6 months of ownership faced more problems related to car exterior and driving experience than customers who have driven less than 2,000 km. Around 24 per cent problems were related to the engine and transmission, followed by vehicle exterior and driving experience (17 per cent).

Talking about the vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra will soon give a generation change to the Bolero SUV. The SUV’s new model will be based on an all-new platform and feature new powertrains along with improved material quality and more comfort and safety fitments. The new-generation Mahindra Balero is likely to hit showrooms sometime next year.

The Toyota Innova Crysta, on the other hand, will receive a mid-life update by the end of this year or early next year. The updated model of the MPV will see minor styling upgrades, more features and BS6-ready powertrains. Prices of the vehicle might also witness a minor hike.
