The moniker ‘Toyota Innova HYCROSS’ has been trademarked by the Japanese automaker in India. It hints that it could be the name of the Innova Hybrid version. Toyota has already confirmed that the MPV will receive hybrid powertrain for the Indonesian market. The automaker might introduce the 2023 Toyota Innova Hybrid with 1.5L petrol turbocharged motor benefited with the brand’s self charging hybrid tech.
At present, the MPV model lineup is available with the 2.4L diesel and 2.7L petrol engines and 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox options. The Toyota Innova HYCROSS is unlikely to come with the diesel motor. Compared to its petrol counterparts, the 2023 Toyota Innova Hybrid will be slightly more expensive.
Toyota’s Self Charging Hybrid Tech
Toyota is the world’s first car manufacturer to introduce the production-ready hybrid vehicle – the Toyota Prius. In India, we have Toyota Camry Hybrid and Vellfire that come with combination of petrol engine and electric motors. Both models recharge their batteries via regenerative braking system that allows to use the wasted energy from the process of slowing down the car and use it to recharge batteries. 2023 Toyota Innova Cyrsta
Codenamed B560, the new-generation Toyota Innova Crysta is likely to witness comprehensive changes inside and out. It will be based on the Toyota Avanza that’s currently on sale in Indonesia and Thailand. One of the major changes will come in the form of the Toyota’s FWD (front-wheel drive) DNGA modular platform. We expect that the design and features of the Toyota Innova HYCROSS will be similar to the MPV’s new-generation model.
