Toyota has recently revealed the complete price list of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Co-developed with Suzuki, the Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara have many similarities. However, what differentiates both SUVs are their exterior styling and their prices.
So, if you are confused about which of the two SUVs to buy, we are here to help you. But first, have a look at their specifications: –

It is worth noting that both SUVs underpin the same platform, share identical powertrains & cabin dimensions, and get the same set of features, so the only significant point that remains to compare the SUVs is their prices.
Let’s start with the mild-hybrid variants.
Toyota Hyryder | Maruti Grand Vitara | Price Difference |
Mild-Hybrid Manual Variants
E – Rs 10.48 lakh | Sigma – Rs 10.45 lakh | +Rs 3,000 |
S – Rs 12.28 lakh | Delta – Rs 11.9 lakh | +Rs 38,000 |
G – Rs 14.34 lakh | Zeta – Rs 13.89 lakh | +Rs 45,000 |

V – Rs 17.09 lakh | Alpha – 16.89 lakh | +Rs 20,000 |
As the above table clearly explains, the mild-hybrid Toyota Hyryder variants are up to Rs 50,000 more expensive than their corresponding variants of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. That’s probably because the Hyryder borrows this 1.5-liter K15C engine from the house of Suzuki. However, it is worth noting that Toyota offers a standard warranty of up to 3 years/1 lakh kilometers (whichever occurs earlier) on the Grand Vitara, which can be extended to 5 year/2,20,000km. In contrast, the Grand Vitara gets a standard warranty only for 2-years/40,000 km. Both SUVs also offer a 5-year/1 lakh km warranty on the mild-hybrid system’s battery pack and ISG (Integrated Starter Generator).
Now, let’s compare the prices of self-charging strong hybrid trims.
Toyota Hyryder | Maruti Grand Vitara | Price Difference |
Strong-Hybrid Variants
S – Rs 15.11 lakh | – | NA |
G – Rs 17.49 lakh | Zeta+ Rs 17.99 lakh | -Rs 50,000 |
V – Rs 18.99 lakh | Alpha+ Rs 19.49 lakh | -Rs 50,000 |
The strong-hybrid variants of Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are up to Rs 50,000 more affordable than the Grand Vitara’s. Also, buyers with budget restrictions can choose Hyryder’s mid-spec S variant with a strong-hybrid powertrain to fulfill their priority of high fuel efficiency. However, to offset the price difference, Maruti Suzuki offers an extended warranty for up to 5 years/ 1 lakh km (whichever occurs earlier) and official accessories worth over Rs 67,000 on the Grand Vitara, albeit for a limited period only. Customers of Toyota Hyryder can also opt the extended warranty by paying a premium. On the other hand, the battery pack of all the strong hybrid variants comes with an 8-year/1.6 lakh km standard warranty.
