Toyota had revealed the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV on 1 July, 2022. The company has revealed all the details including the variant-wise features, specifications and colour options. However, Toyota is yet to reveal the prices and mileage figures for the new Toyota Hyryder SUV. The prices of the new compact SUV are scheduled to be released in August 2022.
Interested buyers can book the new Hyryder SUV online or at authorised Toyota dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. Production of the new SUV will begin from August at Toyota’s Bidadi based plant in Karnataka. This SUV is developed by Suzuki on its Global-C platform, which also underpins the new Grand Vitara. The new Toyota Hyryder will be offered with two engine options – the Neodrive and Hybrid. The Neodrive is the Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K15C Dual-jet petrol engine with a Smart Hybrid Tech. This engine is capable of producing 103.06PS at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. It also offers AWD system with manual gearbox.
The new model also comes with the hybrid setup, which includes Toyota’s 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine that pushes out power worth 92bhp and 122Nm of torque. With electric motor, it produces a maximum power of 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. Its combined power output stands at 115bhp. It comes with Toyota’s e-drive system. The Hybrid is claimed to deliver a range of up to 25km while running on electric motor only.
Toyota Hyryder Variants
The new Hyryder NEODRIVE is offered in 4 variants – E, S, G and V. The Hybrid version is available in 3 variants – S, G and V.
Toyota Hyryder E Variant
Interior – this model comes with all-black interior, 2 speakers, 4.2-inch TFT MID, chrome inside door handle, Satun chrome and satin silver finish on body panels, assist grips, spot map lamp and reading lamp.
Comfort and Convenience Features – it come with front sliding armrest with storage, adjustable tilt & telescopic steering, power steering, auto air-conditioning with rear AC vents, PM2.5 filter, driver seat height adjust, seat back pocket, 60:40 split rear seats, reclining rear seats, 3 rear headrest, rear centre armrest with cupholder, keyless entry, push start-stop button, central locking, power windows, electrically foldable ORVMs, centre console with cupholder, gear shift indicator and driver footrest.
Toyota Hyryder S Variant (E Variant +)
Interior – It comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Hey Siri and Hello Google compatibility. It has 4 speakers, chrome inside door handles, black fabric for door armrest, trunk lamp, glove box light and front footwell light.
Comfort & Convenience – it gets Toyota i-Connect connected car tech, 3 USB ports, cruise control, multi-functional steering wheel, paddle shifters with AT.
Toyota Hyryder G Variant (S Variant +)
Interior – It gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit instead of a 7-inch unit. This variant also offers 2 additional tweeters, Arkamys sound system and soft touch internal panels with premium stitch.
Comfort & Convenience – It has all the comfort and convenience features that are accessible in the G variant. Adding to it, this variant gets auto folding outside mirror.
Toyota Hyryder V Variant (G Variant +)
Interior – it comes with PVC material for the door armrest, while the switch bezel is finished in metallic black. This variant gets artificial leather seats with perforations and leather steering wheel.
Comfort & Convenience – It comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, drive mode switch with AWD (All-Wheel-Drive System).
Toyota Hyryder Hybrid Features
The Hyryders variants share most of the features with the regular variants. However, the hybrid version comes with dual-tone interior scheme instead of all-black in normal model. Moreover, it gets 7-inch TFT MID. In fact, the base S variant of the Hyryder Hybrid gets a panoramic sunroof, head-up display and wireless charging. It also has tyre pressure monitoring system in G variant.
Hyryder Safety Features
The top-spec model comes with ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, hill hold control, hill descent control with AWD system, Tire pressure monitoring system or TPMS with strong hybrid, rear parking sensors, auto-dimming IRVM, etc. The top-spec models come with 6 airbags, while the lower-spec variants get dual-front airbags.
Hyryder Colours –
The SUV is offered in 7 monotone and 4 dual-tone colour options. The monotone colours are Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Sporting Red, Midnight Black, Cave Black and Speedy Blue. The dual-tone colour options include Sporting Red with Midnight Black, Enticing Silver with Midnight Black, Speedy Blue with Midnight Black and Cafe White with Midnight Black.
