Toyota Hilux, the globally popular lifestyle pickup truck from the Japanese carmaker, is ready to make its way to India. According to a fresh media report, Toyota’s new lifestyle pickup truck will hit showrooms during 2021 Diwali season. It might be offered in two variants – Hilux and Hilux Revo – at an estimated cost of Rs 18 lakh – Rs 25 lakh respectively. The pickup truck underpins the IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) platform, which has already been used in the Innova Crysta MPV and Fortuner SUV. The model will also share its engines, suspension and braking mechanism with its siblings. It’s likely to come with the 150bhp, 2.4L diesel or 204bhp, 2.8L diesel engine. While the former does duty in the Innova Crysta, the latter is available with 4WD on the Fortuner model lineup. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
