Toyota Glanza Launch on June 6; Bookings Open
Toyota dealers have started taking pre-bookings for the Glanza hatchback at a token amount of Rs 10,000.
The first product from Toyota and Maruti Suzuki partnership, the Glanza premium hatchback will officially go on sale in India on June 6, 2019. A new media report claims that the Toyota dealers have started doing staff training and creating a stock for the car. Adding to it, certain Toyota dealers have started taking pre-bookings for the Glanza hatchback at a token amount of Rs 10,000.
The Toyota Glanza is basically the re-badged Baleno hatchback. It will be available with 2 engine options. The hatchback will also receive the mil-hybrid technology with the 1.2-litre K12C DualJet engine. This BS6 compliant engine also powers the Baleno hatchback. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the DualJet engine produces 90bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. Adding to it, the hatchback will also receive the BSVI compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 83bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
The Toyota Glanza will be offered in 2 trim levels – V and G. The Glanza V MT delivers 21.01kmpl, while the G MT Smart Hybrid model delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 23.87kmpl. The CVT automatic version is claimed to deliver 19.56kmpl. The Toyota Glanza will come with all the features that are accessible in the Baleno hatchback. In terms of features, the hatchback gets automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation and voice commands, a multi-functional steering wheel, etc.
For passengers’ safety and security, the Toyota Glanza will get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder, speed alert and a reverse camera. It is expected that the Glanza will come with a 3 year/1 lakh km warranty as standard. Upon its launch, the hatchback will rival the likes of the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
