Toyota Glanza Gets A New More Affordable Variant
Toyota India has rolled out a new entry-level variant of the Glanza premium hatchback – Toyota Glanza G MT without mild hybrid technology. The new base model has been priced at Rs 6,97,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is equivalent to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Zeta manual variant. Now, the Glanza carline is available in a total of 5 variants – G MT (without mild hybrid), G MT (with mild hybrid), V MT, G CVT and V CVT. The G and V manual version are priced at Rs 7.21 lakh and 7.58 lakh respectively. While the G CVT carries a price tag of Rs 8.29 lakh, the V CVT costs Rs 8.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
The overall design and styling of the Toyota Glanza is exactly similar to the existing Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Though, it gets the Toyota badging on the grille, wheels and tailgate. The Glanza is the company’s first model in India to offer a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system – Toyota Smart Playcast – with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Unlike the Maruti Suzuki Baleno that comes with both petrol and diesel powertrains, the Toyota Glanza has been offered with diesel engine only. The G trim comes with a 1.2-litre K12N engine with a mild-hybrid motor pushing out a peak power of 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. The V trim, on the other hand, gets 1.2L K12M without mild hybrid unit making 82bhp with 113Nm.
Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 7-step CVT. Mileage figures of the Toyota Glanza stand at 19.56kmpl for the CVT variants, 21.01kmpl for the V MT trim and 23.87kmpl for the G MT (mild hybrid) trim.
