Toyota Glanza G MT in high demand; waiting period rises to 1 month

Toyota Glanza Features

Toyota Glanza currently commands a waiting period of around 1 month.

Toyota has recently launched the Glanza premium hatchback, which is the first model under the Toyota-Suzuki partnership. The hatchback was introduced in two trim levels – G and V – at an aggressive price of Rs 7.21 lakh for the base model and Rs 8.90 lakh for the top-spec model. These introductory prices surprise many and in fact, it undercut the prices of the parallel Maruti Baleno hatchback.

A new report from AutoCarIndia claims that the Toyota Glanza currently commands a waiting period of around 1 month. The report further claims that the Glanza G MT is the most popular model in the line-up. This model is priced quite aggressive and highly fuel efficient than the standard manual model. It is claimed to return 23.87kmpl, which is higher than the regular 83bhp, 1.2-litre petrol.

What’s more interesting is that the top-spec Glanza V CVT demand is higher than the manual counterpart. This model has a waiting period of around 2 months. Maruti Suzuki has dispatched 2,666 units of the Glanza to Toyota dealers. The number of top-spec model was significantly less than the lower-spec variants. Also See – Toyota Glanza Vs Maruti Baleno

The Toyota Glanza G MT is powered by a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with SHVS mild-hybrid system that produces 90bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. This variant undercuts the equivalent Maruti Baleno Zeta variant by a significant Rs 65,000. Other engine option includes a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine is available in 2 transmission options – a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
