Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta & Yaris To Get Expensive Soon
The new prices will be effective from January 1, 2018.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced to increase car prices in India effective from January 1, 2018. The company will hike the price of its cars across the range by up to 4 per cent. Revealing the reason for the price revision, the carmaker said that the hike is due to increased manufacturing costs caused by rupee depreciation.
Currently, the carmaker’s entire model range starts from the Etios Liva hatchback and goes up to the Land Cruiser SUV. The Toyota Etios Liva hatchback is currently priced at Rs 5.48 lakh to Rs 7.35 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the flagship offering the Toyota Land Cruiser SUV is available in a single variant priced at Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Talking about TKM future plans, the Japanese carmaker is reportedly working on the Toyota Fortuner and Innova Crysta facelift models that might hit showrooms in 2019 or 2020. Both vehicles are likely to get BSVI complaint powertrains. Currently, the Fortuner SUV comes with a 2.8L GD diesel and a 2.7L petrol engines generating 174.5bhp with 450Nm and 163.7bhp with 245Nm respectively. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shift and shiftlock.
The Toyota Innova Crysta, on the other hand, is available with a 2.4L GD VNT diesel, a 2.8L GD diesel and a 2.7L DOHC dual-VVT-I petrol engine options. While the diesel motors make 146.9bhp with 343Nm and 174.5bhp with 360Nm respectively, the gasoline unit delivers 166bhp with 245Nm. The MPV carline comes with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox options.
