Toyota Kirloskar Motor has expanded the Fortuner SUV model lineup with an addition of a new range-topping variant. Called the Toyota Fortuner GR Sport, the model has been priced at Rs 48.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s around Rs 3.8 lakh more expensive than the Fortuner Legender 4X4. The SUV’s new variant comes with some cosmetic enhancements, feature upgrades and a few mechanical changes.
The new Toyota Fortuner GR Sport, which is based on the Legender, can be easily distinguished from the regular model. It carries a newly-designed bumper with revised air dam, ‘GR badging and new fog lamp clusters at the front end.
While its dual-tone alloy wheels with dark finish look similar to the Legender, it gets a slightly revised rear bumper, and a body-coloured trim strip running between the tailllamps. The new Toyota Fortuner GR-S variant comes with the red brake callipers featuring the GR logo.
Interior looks sportier with black leather seats and suede upholstery with red stitching. You can notice the GR logos in the headrest and steering wheel. Its centre console and instrument panel have different trim finish.
The standard feature kit of the new Toyota Fortuner GR Sport includes gesture-controlled tailgate, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a JBL audio system, dual zone climate control, connected car tech, stability control, traction control, 7 airbags and more.
Suspension setup of the new Toyota Fortuner GR-S top-end variant has been tuned. Though, it continues to feature the same 2.8L diesel engine paired to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The motor pushes out a peak power of 201bhp at 3,000 – 3,400rpm and 500Nm of torque between 1,600 2,800rpm. The Fortuner GR Sport variant is exclusively offered with the 4WD system.
