Toyota has recently introduced the fifth generation Prius lineup, which is offered with two hybrid powertrain options. The new model is available with Plug-in hybrid powertrain along with a 1.8L petrol & a 2.0L petrol with strong hybrid tech. Toyota has also present a new Toyota bZ compact SUV concept, which previews the brand’s future smaller electric crossover.
The Toyota bZ compact SUV concept has heavy creases and sculpted design. The front fascia features the brand’s new light signature, which we have already seen on the new Prius. The headlamp styling has bracket-shaped lamps on each side and an illuminated strip running across the width. It features an aggressive front fascia angle outward along the lower edge.
The new Toyota bZ compact SUV has more crossover-styling with short overhangs. The roof has thin lines over the windshield and the front doors, but these lines become thicker at the rear. The third brake is a part of a fin placed on top of the roof. There is a sharp crease that runs along the flanks. It has flush type front door handles, while the rear door handles are integrated in the pillar.
The rear glass angles downward into a sharp point merging nicely with the single tail-lamp unit that runs across the width. There is a prominent diffuser placed on the lower section of the tail. The tailgate is rectangular in shape with sharp edges.
Inside the cabin, the new Toyota bZ compact SUV concept has a minimalist design. It features a wide, octagonal steering wheel and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system in the centre of the dashboard. There is a new Prius-like instrument console right behind the steering wheel. The drive selector is a simple column of buttons at the base of the console.
Toyota has plans to introduce five vehicles in the bZ model family. The company has already launched the bZ4X globally and the bZ3 in the Chinese market. The bZ3 compact EV will also go on sale in European markets. The new bZ compact SUV concept could spawn a new electric model in the future.
