Powering the Toyota Alphard MPV is a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid engine that also does duty in the Toyota Camry hybrid.

The Indian subsidary of the Japanese carmaker, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been doing great in the MPV segment with the new Innova Crysta. Now, the carmaker aims to target the luxury MPV segment with the all-new Alphard hybrid that might make its way to India. However, its arrival might take a good one year or more. The Toyota Alphard hybrid MPV is already on sale in several Asian markets including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, etc.

With its bold design, plush interior and efficient hybrid powertrain, the Toyota Alphard will certainly appeal prospective buyers. It has capacity to accommodate 8 occupants at once, thanks to its three rows of seats.

The MPV is brimming with several luxury comfort and convenience equipment. The panoramic sunroof and leather upholstery add more to its luxurious ambiance. Exterior design is quite bold and aggressive, especially the front fascia. It has automated sliding centre door that works with a touch of a button.

The Toyota Alphard shares its engine with Toyota Camry hybrid – i.e. 2.5-litre petrol hybrid. On the Camry sedan, this power mill develops power worth 157.7bhp at 5,700rpm and 213Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The MPV comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, supported by electric four-wheel drive system. Coming to the Toyota Alphard hybrid price, the MPV (with all premium amenities) might carry a price tag of around Rs 50 lakh.
