Here’re the five interesting facts about the upcoming Toyota Alphard luxury MPV.

The Japanese auto giant, Toyota unveiled the Alphard 8-seater MPV at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. With its premium styling and massive body-built, the luxurious MPV caught visitor’s attention at the event. Toyota hasn’t yet revealed launch details of the MPV. Though, it is reported to go on sale in the second half of 2018. While the launch of the vehicle is few months away, here’re five interesting facts about the Toyota Alphard MPV.

1. Bigger Than Innova Crysta

In terms of pricing and positioning, the Toyota Alphard will sit above the company’s best-selling MPV – Toyota Innova Crysta. It will be more premium and bigger than its younger sibling. The overall length, width and height of the Alphard measure 4945mm/4950mm, 1850mm and 1935mm/1950mm respectively. The Innova Crysta, on the other hand, is 4735mm long, 1830mm wide and 1795mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 3000mm. 2. Hybrid Powertrain

For power, the Toyota Alphard 8-seater MPV uses a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine that also does duty in the Camry sedan. This hybrid motor delivers a combined power output of 202bhp. 3. Luxurious Interior

Toyota packs the MPV with several advanced goodies and high quality materials and fit and finish. It gets a 12-speakers JBL audio system along with 3 zone automatic climate control, air conditioning with nano-e, wireless smartphone charger, navigation system, back monitor with corner sensors, power sunshade for rear windshield, front seat ventilation system, power recline rear seat, 8-way electric power steering, 3.7-inch LED touchscreen with Bluetooth and USB and T-Connect. The Nappa leather upholstery, LED roof colour illumination and twin moon roof further enhance its feel and appeal. 4. Unique Styling

Featuring bigger dimensions and bold stance, the Toyota Alphard will offer a commendable road presence. Design bits such as LED headlamps with LED sequential turn indicators, reverse linked ORVMs with memory, LED fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof and LED taillamps with LED sequential turn indicators give a premium appeal to the MPV. 5. Premium Offering

The Alphard will serve a niche segment in the Indian market, and won’t have direct rival. Being a CKD unit, the MPV will be a beneficiary of the government’s new import duties. With the import norms relaxation, the Japanese carmaker will also be able to bring in 2,500 units of the MPV annually without any homologation formalities. It is estimated to cost over Rs 50 lakh.
