There is a significant rise in demand for 7-seater cars in the Indian market. This is evident with the number of 7-seater SUVs and MPVs available on sale in our market. Here is a list of top five 7-seater SUVs and MPVs you can buy under Rs 10 lakhs in India.

French automaker, Renault is currently selling the Triber multi-utility vehicle in the market. This model comes with 7-seat options; however, customers can completely remove the last row seats to create more space inside the cabin. It is one of the most affordable 7-seater cars on sale in India, as the base variant costs as low as Rs 5.50 lakh. The top-end variant is priced at Rs 7.95 lakh.

The Renault Triber MPV is powered by the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 70bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

Nissan has decided to slowly phasing out the Datsun brand from global markets. However, Datsun cars are still on sale in India. The brand’s entry-level MUV, Datsun GO+ is currently India’s most affordable 7-seater car. It is available at a starting price of Rs 4.26 lakh, which goes up to Rs 7 lakh for the top-spec model. The GO+ is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 76bhp of power and 104Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

Mahindra’s tough-looking Bolero is currently India’s best-selling SUV in rural and semi-urban areas. The company has sold over 13 lakh cars since its launch in 2000. The Bolero lifestyle SUV is available in 3 variants – B4, B6 and B6 Opt – priced at Rs 8.62 lakh, Rs 9.36 lakh and Rs 9.61 lakh respectively. It is powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine that churns out 75bhp of power and 210Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra has re-introduced the TUV300 compact SUV as the new Bolero Neo. The SUV looks identical to the TUV300; however, it gets some design changes in the form of new grille, new lighting system and alloys. It is available in 3 variants – N4, N8 and N10 – priced at Rs 8.48 lakh, Rs 9.48 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh respectively. For power, the subcompact SUV uses a BS6-compliant 1.5L, 3-cylinder diesel engine that’s good for 100bhp and 260Nm of torque. Its torque output is 20Nm higher than its predecessor. The new Bolero Neo 7-seater SUV gets RWD (rear-wheel-drive) as standard and a mechanically locking differential is reserved for the top-end N10 trim.=

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is currently India’s best-selling MPV. The MPV is offered in petrol and CNG versions, as the diesel version was discontinued on the arrival of BS6 emission norms. The Ertiga MPV is priced in the range of Rs 7.78 lakh to Rs 10.56 lakh. The CNG version is offered on the VXi trim, and is priced at Rs 9.47 lakh.

It is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system. This engine produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic. The CNG version has the 1.5L engine producing 91bhp and 122Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
