The Tata Zest compact sedan was launched last year, and it is also the first diesel sedan to feature Automated Manual Transmission. It is also the country’s most affordable diesel automatic in the country. Tata offered the AT on the mid-level diesel trim, and the response was pretty decent. However, this variant misses out on various features that are available in higher variants.
Tata Motors has now introduced a new XTA trim, which is basically the automatic version of the XT trim. It is the top-end model, and is equipped with all the features that are accessible in the XT trim. With this, the top-spec model is now equipped with equipment like the Harman infotainment system, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, automatic climate control, rear defogger and daytime running lights.
The Tata Zest XTA is priced at Rs. 8.07 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The manual variant is tagged at Rs. 7.31 lakhm, which is around 70,000 cheaper than the new XTA diesel Automatic variant. We believe that the XTA variant is a bit pricey. The dealers have started taking pre-orders for the new model, while the waiting period for the car is around 2-4 weeks.
