Top-End Maruti Baleno Alpha CNG Variant Coming Soon

The Indo-Japanese automaker rolled out the CNG-powered Maruti Suzuki Baleno in October 2022. It’s being offered in Delta and Zeta variants, priced at Rs 8.28 lakh and Rs 9.21 lakh (all, ex-showroom). According to a new RTO document, the company will introduce the Maruti Baleno CNG in range-topping Alpha trim. Similar to the Delta and Zeta CNG variants, the new top-end model is likely to cost around Rs 95,000 premium than its regular petrol counterpart.

The new Maruti Baleno Alpha CNG will come with the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12N petrol engine paired to a factory-fitted CNG kit. The setup delivers a claimed power of 77.5bhp and 98.5Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The CNG tank, which is fitted in the boot, consumed the space there. Maruti Suzuki claims that the hatchback’s CNG version offers a fuel economy of 30.61km/kg.

Similar to the regular petrol Alpha trim, the new Maruti Baleno Alpha CNG variant will offer a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro+, voice assistant, Head-Up display (HUD), Arkamys surround sound system, cruise control, auto folding ORVMs, auto dimming IRVM, a 360 degree camera, connected car tech with OTA updates, start/stop button, leather wrapped steering wheel, 6 airbags, a rear view camera, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED fog lamps with chrome garnish and LED DRLs.

In other updates, Maruti Suzuki will expand its Nexa product range with three new models in 2023. The lineup will include the Baleno Cross compact SUV, 5-door Jimny and a three-row MPV. The new Maruti MPV will essentially be the re-badged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross that will debut in India on 25th November, 2022. All three aforementioned models will make their first public appearance at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo that will be held from 13th to 18th January in Greater Noida.
