Top 8 New Car Launches In Coming Weeks

Festive season is just around the corner and all the major car manufactures are gearing up to make the most of it. In coming weeks, the industry will witness some important car launches in different segments. Here’s is a complete list of the new cars that are ready to hit showrooms this festive season.

1. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is slated to hit showrooms on 30th September, 2019. Ahead of its official launch, the carmaker released exterior and interior pictures of the mini SUV revealing its details. The vehicle carries upright stance with a squared-off front fascia. Some of its styling elements include a slim grille design with inserts, newly-designed headlamps, LED DRLs and 14-inch steel wheels with black finish.  The Maruti S-Presso will be the company’s first car to feature BS6-ready 68bhp, 1.0L K10B petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. It will also be the smallest, lightest and the most affordable offering from the Indo-Japanese carmaker in India.  

2. Skoda Kodiaq Scout

The Czech Republic carmaker will roll out the Skoda Kodiaq Scout on 30th September, 2019. With additional off-road capabilities, the new variant of the Kodiaq 7-seater SUV will sit top-of-the-line. The black plastic cladding with silver metallic inserts on the lower portion of the front and rear bumpers, ‘Scout’ badges, silver ORVMs covers and roof rails and 19-inch anthracite alloys differentiate it from the regular model. The feature list of the Skoda Kodiaq Scout is exactly similar to the existing top-spec L&K variant. On engine front, the SUV’s off-road version will feature the same 150bhp, 2.0L turbocharged diesel motor with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

3. Hyundai Elantra Facelift

Hyundai India has confirmed that the 2019 Elantra facelift will go on sale on 3rd October. The updated version of the executive sedan receives minor cosmetic upgrades along with a pack of new connectivity and comfort features. On the exterior, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra gets the signature ‘cascading grille’, revised headlamps with LED DRLs, triangular fog lamps, newly-designed alloys, updated rear bumper and wraparound taillamps. The sedan’s new model offers an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity along with features such as dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, cooled front seats and TPMS. This time around, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra will be made available with a BS6-ready 152bhp, 2.0L petrol engine only.

4. 2019 Tata Tiago Wizz

This festive season, Tata Motors will bring in a special edition of the Tiago hatchback – 2019 Tata Tiago Wizz. The limited edition will be made available exclusively in Titanium Grey shade with a contrast black roof. It will also get orange coloured highlights on front grille, ORVMs and wheel covers. The sporty orange treatment will continue inside the cabin as well. The 2019 Tata Tiago Wizz might get orange inserts on air vents, gear lever and seats. Under the hood, the new special edition of the Tiago will feature the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol and 1.05L, 3-cylinder diesel engine. Both a 5-speed manual and an AMT automatic gearbox will be on offer.

5. Datsun GO, GO+ CVT

Datsun India is all set to launch the GO hatchback and GO+ MPV with CVT gearbox in October, 2019. Both models will be the first cars in their respective segments to receive CVT unit. Interior of the GO and GO+ CVT has been revised with a new dashboard featuring instrument cluster with trip computer MFD, first-in-segment 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Map navigation and App support and voice recognition technology. The cars also get anti-fatigue front seats with bolster cushioning. No changes will be made their engines. The Datsun GO and GO+ will come with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine pushing out 67bhp with 104Nm of torque. The carlines will come with the standard 5-speed manual gearbox along with the new CVT unit.

6. New Renault Kwid

Renault’s popular hatchback, Kwid is ready to receive a mid-life update in early October, 2019. The spy pictures have already revealed exterior and interior details of the 2020 Renault Kwid facelift. Minor changes have been made its exterior. The hatchback gets a new front bumper, split headlamps with LED DRLs and integrated turn indicators, a three slat grille, faux skid plate, contrast coloured ORVMs, a blacked out B-pillar and C-shaped LED taillamps. Inside, the 2019 Renault Kwid facelift features a new steering wheel, revised central AC vents and repositioned rotary gear level for the AMT and AC controls. Engine setup will remain unchanged – i.e. 54bhp, 0.8L petrol and 68bhp, 1.0L petrol. Though, both powertrains will be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms.

7. Mercedes Benz G 350d

The German luxury carmaker will expand its SUV lineup in India with the Mercedes Benz G 350d, which will see a release on 16th October, 2019. Powering the vehicle is a 3.0L, 6-cylinder, in-line engine that’s good for 286bhp and 600Nm of torque. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Mercedes Benz S 350d. Transmitting power to all four wheels is a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Mercedes Benz G 350d sits on the ladder-frame chassis and features Merc’s ‘widescreen cockpit’ with two screens (one for infotainment system and one for instruments).

8. Toyota Vellfire

Toyota Vellfire, the luxury MPV from the Japanese carmaker, will go on sale in October, 2019. Globally, the new Toyota MPV is being offered with multiple engine options – a 180bhp, 2.5L petrol, a 297bhp, 3.5-litre petrol and a 2.5L petrol + 2JM electric + 2FM electric motor. The India-spec model could be offered with a hybrid powertrain (150bhp, 2.5L engine with a 143bhp electric motor) and a CVT automatic gearbox. The overall length, width and height of the vehicle stand at 4935mm, 1850mm and 1935mm respectively. The Toyota Vellfire will have captain seats in the second row, which are reclinable and power adjustable with a cooling function). Its other key features include a 3 zone automatic climate control, two sunroofs, powered sliding doors and tailgate, individual tray tables, mood lighting, seven airbags and more.
