Top 6 Upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes In India – Shotgun 650, New Bullet

After launching the Scram 411, Royal Enfield is now planning to launch 6 new motorcycles in the Indian market by the end of 2023. The company will have multiple products in 350cc and 650cc segment. Moreover, Royal Enfield will also introduce the new Himalayan Adventure Bike.

Royal Enfield had showcased the SG650 concept at the 2021 EICMA. The SG650 concept based motorcycle is reportedly to be called the new RE Shotgun 650. In fact, the company has started testing the new Bobber on foreign soil. The motorcycle features Classic design elements like round headlamps and rear-view mirrors along with teardrop shaped fuel tank and wide rear mudguard.

It is likely to get a semi-digital instrument panel with a tripper navigation for turn-by-turn navigation. The Shotgun 650 is likely to be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin, air-cooled engine that powers the Interceptor 650 & the Continental GT 650. Paired to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox, this engine produces 47bhp and 52N of torque. The powertrain could be tuned for the new bobber.

Royal Enfield is also testing a cruiser motorcycle, which will be called the Super Meteor. For people not in the know, the ‘Super Meteor’ nameplate was used by RE for its bike that was exported to the US between 1952 and 1962. The motorcycle is likely to share its powertrain with the Interceptor 650.

The Super Meteor will feature the Upside Down Front Forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It will have disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle is likely to share some of its design elements from the KX Concept that was unveiled in 2019. It will share features with the upcoming Shotgun 650 and the Interceptor 650.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350

Royal Enfield will launch the retro classic roadster – called the RE Hunter 350 by mid-2022. The motorcycle has been spotted wearing production body parts in India. It will be based on the brand’s new ‘J’ platform that underpins the RE Meteor 350 and the new Classic 350. The new Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has a single-piece seat, relaxed ergonomics, retro-styled circular headlamps, disc brakes, alloy wheels and grab handles for the rear passengers.

It will be powered by the same 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with OHC layout that powers the Meteor 350 and the Classic 350. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 20.2bhp and a peak torque of 27Nm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

Next-gen RE Bullet 350

Not just Hunter, Royal Enfield has also started testing the next-gen Bullet 350 in India. The new model is likely to be based on the new J-Series platform, which is claimed to offer refined performance and power delivery with less vibrations. Besides sharing its platform, the new-gen Royal Enfield Bullet 350 will source the 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine from the Meteor 350. The powertrain churns out a maximum power of 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield will also launch a new 650cc Classic motorcycle in the country in 2023. The motorcycle has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The new Classic 650 will feature retro design elements such as a circular headlamp and teardrop shaped fuel tank. It will get split seats with removable pillion unit, twin exhaust pipes and an eccentrically mounted circular instrument panel.

The motorcycle will feature inverted telescopic front forks and disc brakes at the front and rear axles. The Classic 650 is likely to feature a 649cc, twin cylinder engine that produces 47bhp and 52Nm of torque.

Royal Enfield is working on the new-gen Himalayan Adventure motorcycle, which has recently been caught testing in India. The new motorcycle will come with a new 450cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is likely to produce around 40bhp and 45Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The new 450cc motor is expected to deliver better performance at high speed and generate good grunt during off-roading.

The motorcycle is also reportedly to offer 3 ride modes – Road, Rain and Off-Road. The new Himalayan will have Switchable ABS and Ride-By-Wire System. The bike will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. It is expected to be launched in 2023.
