Top 5 SUVs to be Unveiled at Auto Expo 2020

The 15th edition of Asia’s largest automotive show – the Indian Auto Expo 2020 is scheduled to commence on February 7th to 12th February at Indian Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The event will witness the unveiling of over 50 new cars along with multiple new automakers entering the Indian auto market. SUVs are going to rule the Auto Expo event, as all the automakers will showcase their SUVs. Here is a list of top 5 new SUVs to watch out for at the 2020 Auto Expo.

All-New Hyundai Creta

The popular Hyundai Creta compact SUV will enter into the new generation in 2020. The Korean brand will unveil the next gen Creta SUV at the biennial event. It will come with all-new exterior design inspired by bigger Hyundai cars including Palisade and Santa Fe. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol.

Buoyed by excellent response for the Seltos, Kia Motors is now readying an all-new compact SUV for the Indian market. To be positioned below the Seltos, the new SUV will challenge the likes of the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue. It will share the engine options with the Venue compact SUV, which includes a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.

Homegrown UV maker, Mahindra will introduce the next generation Scorpio and Thar SUVs at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new models will receive the BSVI compliant 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. Adding to it, the SUVs will grow in size to offer more space inside the cabin. The Scorpio will also receive forward facing third row of seats.

French automaker, Renault is all set to launch an all-new sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market. To be unveiled at the Auto Expo, the new Renault compact SUV will be based on the Kwid’s platform that also underpins the Triber 7-seater MPV. Codenamed HBC, the new model will receive the 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine. Likely to be the most affordable SUV in its category, the Renault HBC will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport.

Volkswagen T-Cross

German premium carmaker, Volkswagen will showcase the made-in-India, made-for-India T-Cross compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2020. The VW T-Cross for our market will be based on the MQB AO IN platform, which will underpin a wide range of VW and Skoda cars in India. The SUV will be positioned against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Nissan Kicks. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
