2019 festive season is just a few months away. Car manufacturers, however, have already started pulling out new products in different segments to attract buyers. Here, we have listed the top upcoming launches of the new cars that will take place in August, 2019.

1. Maruti Suzuki XL6

Maruti Ertiga Cross 6-seater

Maruti Suzuki India has confirmed that it will launch a new model on 21st August, 2019. Reports suggest that it will the 6-seater version of the Ertiga MPV, named – Maruti Suzuki XL6. The new cross variant will be retailed via Nexa dealerships across the nation. Design and styling of the XL6 will be quite similar to the regular model. Though, it will receive minor cosmetic changes including newly-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, new grille with dual chrome slats, revised bumpers, wider air intake, aluminum finished skid plate, new tail lamps and black plastic cladding all around the body. Inside, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 has 6-seats configuration (2+2+2) with captain seats for the second row passengers. It gets all-black interior theme, black leather upholstery along with a range of new features. Powering the new cross model will be a BS6-compliant, 103bhp, 1.5L K15B petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

2. New Hyundai Grand i10

Hyundai Grand i10, the highly-popular hatchback from the South Korean carmaker, will witness a generation change on 21st August. The all-new model will share its platform with the Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV that was launched in May. The new architecture will make the hatchback comply to new crash test norms. The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will also see minor dimensional changes including increased wheelbase and roof height. Visually, the new model will look refreshing with minor tweaks such as sharper projector headlamps, new cascading grille, revised bumpers, newly-designed alloy wheels and re-designed tailgate. It will also get a new touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Engine setup will remain unchanged – i.e. 1.2L petrol and diesel.

3. New BMW 3 Series

2019 BMW 3 Series India

The German luxury carmaker will bring in the seventh-generation BMW 3 Series sedan in India on 21st August, 2019. Based on the company’s CLAR platform, the new G20 BMW 3 Series is 76mm longer and sits on 41mm longer wheelbase than its predecessor. In fact, its weight has also been reduced by 55kg. Design inspiration of the new 3 Series is derived from the new BMW 8 Series. Some of its key elements include a larger kidney grille, LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs, self-levelling hub caps on the wheels and new wraparound tail lamps. The 2019 model year has more cabin and boot space to offer. It gets an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BMW’s Intelligent Personal Assistant and navigation, all-digital instrument console with a HUD, electric sunroof, memory seats, etc. The 2019 BMW 3 Series will come with a 2.0L and 3.0L turbocharged petrol and diesel engines paired to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission.

4. Kia Seltos

Kia Motors is ready to enter India with all-new Seltos compact SUV that’s scheduled to go on sale on 22nd August, 2019. The SUV lineup will be offered in two design patterns – Tech Line and GT Line, and multiple engine and transmission options. The carmaker has confirmed that the Kia Seltos will be available with a 140bhp, 1.4L turbo GDI petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5L petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5L CRDi diesel powertrains. The most powerful 1.4L motor will be exclusively offered on the GT Line variants. Transmissions on offer will be a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a CVT automatic. The Kia Seltos is one of the most feature-loaded vehicles in its segment. It offers multiple class-leading features along with advanced safety fitments.

5. Renault Triber

Renault Triber Mini MPV

Renault’s all-new subcompact 7-seater MPV – Triber – will hit showrooms in late August. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced. The MPV uses a 1.0L dual VVT petrol engine for deriving 71bhp of power and 96Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT gearbox will be on offer. The Renault Triber has flexible seating arrangement with 4 seating modes – Camp, Surf, Life and Tribe. There are independent manual AC unit for the second and third row seats passengers. Features on offer are an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, MediaNav with a fast charging port, a digital instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch MID, two 12V charging sockets and a steering wheel with silver accents.
