According to the Global NCAP, the Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV is the safest made-in-India car. This sub-4 meter SUV awarded with a 5-star rating in adult occupancy and 4-stars in child safety. In the Global NCAP crash test, the XUV300 scored 16.42 points out of 17 points and 37.44 points out of 49 points on adult occupant protection and child occupant protection respectively. Mahindra has used high-strength steel in the construction of the XUV300. It is equipped with safety features like seven airbags, disc brakes for all wheels, front and rear parking sensors, ESP, roll-over mitigation, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, reverse camera and others.

The Nexon was the first made-in-India car to secure 5 star Global NCAP crash test rating. In the crash test under the #SaferCarsForIndia campaign, the Nexon scored 16.06 out 17 points. In Child occupant safety, it received 3 star rating by achieving 25 points out of 49. The compact SUV is one of the safest SUVs currently on sale in India. It is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seat belt reminder as standard safety features.

Maruti Vitara Brezza

Maruti Vitara Brezza Crash Test Global NCAP

The Vitara Brezza is the safest Maruti car currently on sale in India. The ‘Made-in-India’ Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza received four stars safety rating in the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash test. The SUV achieved two stars in child occupant protection when a forward facing 18-month old dummy placed in the test. The tested model was equipped with dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX anchorages, and others as safety features.
