The new XTA trim is available at an additional premium of Rs 42,000 over the regular XT trim priced at Rs 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the top-spec XZA AMT trim, priced at Rs 5.25 lakh offers a bunch of additional features such as alloy wheels, steering mounted controls, dual front airbags, ABS, seatbelts with pretensioner and load limiters, height adjustable driver’s seat & front headrest and cooled glovebox among others. Both the trims are powered by Tata’s 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Revotron unit good for maximum power of 84bhp at 6,000rpm against 114Nm torque at 3,500rpm. The EasyShift AMT, sourced from Magneti Marelli is also used in other Tata cars including Zest and Nano. It comes with four gear positions namely-Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual. In addition, it also gets Sports and City driving modes in line with the manual version. Tata Motors also offers a creep function on the AMT variants which enables the car to crawl on its own, when the foot is removed from the brake pedal. This function is usually useful when driving on an inclined terrain like hills. Also Read – Upcoming Tata Cars In India

Competing with rivals such as Maruti Celerio available with an AMT and Hyundai Grand i10 that comes with an auto box, the new Tiago XTA variant, priced at Rs 4.79 lakh is a more lucrative option. That said, Maruti Celerio AMT is available for Rs 4.48 lakh and Hyundai Grand i10 comes for Rs 5.97 lakh which is way too pricier than Tiago XZA AMT.
