Tesla Cybertruck Unveiled; Delivers Range Over 800Km
Tesla has released the first official pictures of the all-electric pick-up truck – the Tesla Cybertruck. It’s claimed to deliver “utility of a truck and the performance of a sports car”. The vehicle will be made available in three variants – Single Motor Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and Tri Motor All-Wheel Drive.
The new pick-up truck from Tesla will come in a choice of three electric powertrains. The entry-level variant with a single motor RWD setup delivers a claimed range of over 400km on a single charge. The dual-motor AWD model offers an electric range of over 480km on a single charge and the range-topping tri-motor AWD trim returns over 800km in a single charge.
The entry-level setup can accelerate from 0 to 96kmph in less than 6.5 seconds and the tri-motor variant can do it under 2.9 seconds.
The Tesla Cybertruck has a towing capacity of 6.4 tonnes and payload capacity of up to 1.5 tonnes. For storage purpose, it offers 100 cubic feet of exterior along with lockable storage including frunk, vault and sail pillars.
The Tesla Cybertruck sports futuristic design with sleek front and rear light clusters and sharp creases across the body. The carmaker claims that the pick-up truck has 30X cold rolled stainless steel body that not only resistant to denting but withstand 9mm bullets as well.
The adaptive air suspension ensures comfortable drive even on rough terrains. For easy loading and unloading, one can hunkered down its rear and extend ramp from the tailgate. The Tesla Cybertruck comes with 6-seats layout and offers features such as a large 17-inch central touchscreen and a U-shaped steering wheel.
Official bookings of the Tesla Cybertruck have already been commenced. Production of the pickup truck will being in the second half of 2021 and its Tri Motor All-Wheel Driver variant will be launched in late 2022.
