Tesla Cybertruck has finally made its first public appearance at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The prototype has been put up on display for a week (from 20th to 26th June) along with the Model S prototype and the first-generation Roadster prototype. The Museum has been reopened on Friday after the months of lockdown. The Cybertruck was first unveiled in a private event in November last year.
Elon Musk recently confirmed that production-ready version of the Tesla Cybertruck will be dimensionally similar to its concept. The latter one was measures 5885mm (231.7 inch) in length, 2083mm in width (82.0 inch) and 1905mm in height (75 inch) with a wheelbase of 3807mm (149.9 inch). He also revealed that the company might introduce a smaller pickup truck later. Though, he didn’t mention a possible timeline of the new model.
The Tesla Cybertruck will be offered in three different versions – Single Motor RWD, Dual Motor AWD and Tri Motor AWD. Priced at $39,900, the Single Motor RWD variant offers a range of over 250 miles and has a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The mid-level Dual Motor AWD model has a battery range of over 300 miles on a full charge and towing capacity of over 10,000 pounds. It will cost $49,900. The range-topping Tri Motor AWD version comes with a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds and promises a range of over 500 miles. It has been priced at $69,900. While the Single and Dual Motor variants are slated to launch in late 2021, the more expensive model with bigger battery pack and more motors will arrive in late 2022. Tesla’s futuristic pickup truck has been based on a completely new platform and requires a new manufacturing procedure.
