Tata Motors is all set to launch its much-awaited compact sedan, the Zest in the Indian car market. The company has started taking pre-orders for the Zest compact sedan via its official website. The customers can book this car online by paying a sum of Rs. 21,000 through debit or credit cards or other online payment methods.
The customers need to fill the form where he/she has to mention the state and city. After this, the website will show the list of dealerships available in the city. Once the dealership is selected, the booking amount will be directly transferred to the dealer. The customer needs to visit the dealership to select the variant and color to the car.
Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Tata Zest will be the country’s first ever diesel powered car to feature the automated manual transmission. It will compete against the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent. Based on the thoroughly modified X1 platform, the Zest compact sedan measures 3995mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1570mm in height, and has a large wheelbase of 2470mm.
The Tata Zest compact sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the gasoline version will get the new turbocharged 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, the oil burner has the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine. Both the engines will be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox; the diesel version also features the five-speed automated manual gearbox.
