The micro SUV is scheduled to be launched by the end of this financial year, most probably around January-March 2021.

The upcoming Tata MPV is expected to be based on the ALFA modular platform that also underpins the Altroz and the HBX micro SUV. This platform is compatible with different body styles and multiple engine options including petrol, diesel and electric. The compact MPV is likely to be offered in two flexible seating configurations.

The upcoming MPV is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that also powers the Nexon compact SUV. This engine is capable of producing 108bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. Details about the petrol engine option not known. It could receive the 120bhp, 1.2L turbocharged petrol or an all-new 1.5L turbo-petrol engine (Under Development For Harrier).

The upcoming Tata MPV is rumoured to be launched in the country in 2022. The company is likely to start testing of the new Tata MPV after the festive season, Diwali. Tata Motors is also working on 2 sedans – the Peregrin and the Goshaq – which will be based on the ALFA modular platform. Tata is also working on an all-new mid-sized SUV to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.
