Tata Tigor – Which Variant To Buy?

With the Tata Tigor, you can choose between an ICE and an electric vehicle. The electric version has already been discussed in detail in our previous thread. In this story, we will discuss all the variants of its ICE version so you can make an informed decision.

Let’s start with the specifications: –

Specifications

Engine1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Petrol
Max Power86PS (Petrol) / 73PS (CNG)
Max Torque113Nm (Petrol) / 95Nm (CNG)
Transmission5-speed MT/AMT (Petrol) / 5-speed MT (CNG)
Claimed Mileage20.09 km/l (petrol); 26.49km/kg (CNG)

The Tata Tigor is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as the Tiago hatchback. This engine emits a noticeable clatter throughout its entire rev range, almost like a diesel engine due to its 3-cylinder configuration. However, it’s ideal for city driving since it has a smooth, linear power delivery. Speaking of the CNG, there is a noticeable power difference between the petrol and CNG iterations on paper. However, the difference feels negligible in city driving conditions. Nevertheless, the difference is slightly more noticeable on the motorways.
