Tata Motors leads the Indian EV market at present. The company’s electric vehicle lineup consists of four models: the Tiago EV, the Tigor EV, the Nexon EV Prime, and the Nexon EV Max. While we have already evaluated the Tiago EV on paper ahead of its launch in January, in this article, we will examine the variant lineup of the Tigor EV’s variants to determine which offers the best value.
Dimensions
The Tata Tigor EV is 3993mm long, 1677mm wide, 1532mm tall, and possesses a wheelbase of 2450mm. It has 316 litres of boot space to serve your travel needs. Also, at 172mm, the Tigor EV is 7mm more elevated from the ground to accommodate its under-body battery pack.

Max Power | 75 PS |
Max Torque | 170 Nm |
Transmission | Single-speed automatic |
ARAI Claimed Range | 306 km/charge (real-world range could be different) |
Per KM Running Cost* | Rs 1.57 |
Average 50km Daily Running Cost | Rs 79 |
0-60kmph | 5.7 seconds |
0-80% Charging Time | 65 minutes via 25 kW DC charger8 hours 45 minutes via 15A plug point portable charger |
Top Speed | 120 kmph |
*Based on the public charging rate at Tata’s EV network (Rs 18.56/kWh)
Note: The above-mentioned running cost will be applicable if you largely depend on public charging stations. Using a home charger, however, will reduce the overall running cost by a huge margin.
Tata offers the Tigor EV with a 75PS PMS motor that delivers power smoothly. It also gets two drive modes: Drive and Sport. The regular Drive Mode suits everyday commuting beautifully, whereas Sport mode offers an initial spike in acceleration, helping it go from 0-60kmph in 6.3 seconds. Nevertheless, don’t expect anything spectacular.
When driven calmly and docilely, the Tata Tigor EV should return roughly 200 km of range per charge. However, you will see the range drop significantly when diving hard, and in this scenario, you can squeeze out only 150-170km from the electrified Tigor.
Variant-Wise Pricing and Features

Verdict: Although it’s a base model, it gets convenient features such as an automatic air conditioning system and a height-adjustable driver seat, which is appreciable. Unfortunately, it does not include basic features such as rear power windows and a music system. If you have the budget to stretch, we recommend going for the XM trim.

Verdict: The Tata Tigor EV XZ+ variant offers more value for money than the XM trim due to its extra goodies. However, it would have been better if the vehicle benefitted from features such as a front armrest, adjustable headrests for rear seats, and, most importantly, cruise control, which would have helped obtain a decent range on the highway.
Note: Tata Tigor EV is soon expected to receive features like multi-level regenerative braking, tyre pressure monitoring system, and cruise control from the new Tiago EV.
