Tata Tiago NRG Cross-hatch Launched; Prices Start at Rs 5.49 Lakh
Touted as an ‘Urban Toughroader’, the Tata Tiago NRG has been priced at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Tata Tiago NRG (pronounced as Energy) has finally gone on sale in the Indian market. Touted as an ‘Urban Toughroader’, the cross-hatch has been priced at Rs 5.49 lakh (for the petrol model) and Rs 6.31 lakh (for the diesel variant). These are introductory ex-showroom, Delhi prices. The home-grown carmaker claims that it set to “reinvigorate the auto world with the Tiago NRG” Themed around an active lifestyle”. Compared to the regular model, the Tata Tiago NRG carries bolder and sportier stance. It gets a black body kit that includes black cladding on the bumpers, wheel arches, side skirts, black roof rails and faux silver skid plate for the rear bumper. The extensive black treatment is also given on front grille, air dam, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and tailgate in the form of a thick black cladding. The cross-hatch comes fitted with dual-tone (Silver & Black), 4-spoke, 14-inch alloy wheels. Dimensionally, the Tata Tiago NRG is slightly longer, wider and taller than the standard Tiago hatchback. The new crossover version of the hatch measures 3793mm in length, 1,665mm in width and 1,587mm in height. The ground clearance has also been increased to 180mm. The Tata Tiago NRG comes in three exterior paint options – Canyon Orange, Fuji White and Malabar Silver. Interior of the cross-hatch looks similar to the regular model. Though, it gets Orange and Silver inserts. All comfort and safety features have been carried over from the regular Tiago. Mechanically, no changes have been made to the car. The Tata Tiago NRG uses the same a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol and 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine producing 84bhp at 6,000rpm with 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm and 69bhp at 4,000rpm with 140Nm at 1,800-3,000rpm respectively. The cross-hatch comes with the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox.
