Tata Tiago JTP & Tigor JTP Set To Launch On 26th October
Both the models were previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Tata Motors will soon foray into performance vehicle segment with the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP models. Both the cars are scheduled to go on sale on October 26, 2018. Just so you know, Tata’s new performance models have been developed in collaboration with Coimbatore based – Jayem Automotives. While the Tata Tiago JTP hot hatch will face challenge from the Maruti Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, the Tata Tigor JTP performance sedan won’t have any direct rival in the market.
Previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are reported to be the most affordable performance cars in their segments. At the engine front, Tata’s JTP models will get the 1.2L Revotron petrol engine borrowed from the Nexon. However, this gasoline unit is claimed to be tuned for generating extra power. Reports suggest that the updated 1.2L turbocharged motor will be capable to deliver over 110bhp. Transmission duties will be performed by the same 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata has also made some cosmetic changes to its JTP models. The Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP features revised front and rear bumpers, new front grille, larger air dam, side skirts, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and twin exhaust tips. The new Tata hot hatch and performance sedan will also see minor mechanical changes. Both the cars will feature tuned suspension setup, bigger brakes and optimized gear ratios along with slightly lower ride height.
