Tata Motors has finally marked its entry in the performance vehicle space with the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP. Previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Tata Tiago JTP has been priced at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Here, we have bring you five interesting facts about Tata’s first-ever hot hatchback.
1. More Powerful Engine
Under the hood, the Tata Tiago JTP features the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that does duty in the regular model. However, it has been tweaked for generating more power and deliver better performance. On the standard model, it offers 84bhp at 6,000rpm with 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. 2. Stiffer Suspension
Besides employing a more powerful engine, the home-grown carmaker has updated the suspension and braking mechanism of the hot hatch. Compared to the standard model, the Tata Tiago JTP gets stiffer and lowered suspension setup. It helps the car absorb jerks with more ease. 3. More Aggressive Looks
Tata has made subtle design changes to the Tata Tiago JTP. The hot hatch wears a new aero kit that includes updated front bumper, revised grille, blacked out headlamps, larger air intakes and new fog lamps. 4. Sporty Interior
Interior of the Tata Tiago JTP looks premium and sportier than the regular model. It gets all black interior theme with black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitches and accents. 5. India’s Most Affordable Hot Hach
The Tata Tiago JTP is the company’s first-ever and India’s most affordable hot hatch. The vehicle is being offered at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price, the Tiago JTP is around Rs 2.08 lakh less expensive than the Maruti Suzuki RS that costs Rs 8.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
