Tata Tiago JTP And Tigor JTP Launched – Prices & Pictures

The JTP models have been made jointly by Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives Pvt. Ltd.

Tata Motors has finally entered into the performance vehicles segment with the all-new Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. While official bookings for both models have already been commenced, deliveries will start from the next month. Previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo, both the performance cars have been made jointly by Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives Pvt. Ltd.

The Tata Tiago JTP has been priced at Rs 6.39 lakh and puts up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. The Tata Tigor JTP is made available at Rs 7.49 lakh, and it doesn’t have any direct competition in the Indian market. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. At the engine front, the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP gets a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox with optimized gear ratios. The power and torque outputs stand at 114bhp at 5,000rpm and 150Nm at 2,000rpm – 4,000rpm respectively. Tata’s new performance cars offer multi-drive modes – City and Sport – for fuel efficiency and performance respectively. Both the models run on 15-inch alloy wheels and wider 185-section tyres. For enhancing their performance, the carmaker has also tuned the suspension setup and electric power steering. The hot-hatch and performance sedan get dual airbags, ABS with EBD and corner stability control as standard safety fitments.

Styling of the JTP models has been revised with a new front bumper with a large grille, side skirts, projector headlamps with chrome rings, a contrasting black roof and ORVMs and rear spoiler. The all-black interior with contrasting red stitching and trim bits gives it a sporty appeal. The red surrounds for the leather-wrapped steering wheel, AC vents and gearshift gaiter add more to its premium look. The Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP have seats with a red hexagonal pattern stitch and double contrasting stitching. Both the models offer a Harman 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice command recognition and Bluetooth connectivity.
