Tata Tiago EV & Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport Now Available For Bookings

Mahindra has officially started accepting pre-orders for the newly launched XUV300 TurboSport, a more powerful version of the compact SUV. Interested buyers can book the new Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport online or at an authorised Mahindra dealership. Test drives and deliveries of the SUV have also been started.

Not just Mahindra, Tata Motors has also started accepting bookings for the new Tiago EV at a token amount of Rs 21,000. However, test drives of the small EV will commence in late December 2022. Deliveries for the new Tiago EV will start from January 2023. Before deliveries, Tata Motors will put the new EV on display across leading malls across major cities this month.

The new Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport is available in 3 trim levels – W6 TGDi, W8 TGDi and W8(O) TGDi – priced between Rs 10.35 lakh and Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine that produces 130bhp and 230Nm of torque, and the torque rises to 250bhp with overboost function. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.  It features a 250bar GDI (gasoline direct injection) fuel system that is claimed to improve performance and fuel efficiency. It is claimed to achieve 0 to 60kmph in less than 5 seconds, which also makes it the fastest SUV in the category.

Mahindra has also made some changes to its styling and interior. It comes with a new glossy black grille with red inserts, blacked out central air intake, new Twin Peaks logo and 3 new dual-tone colours – Bronze with Black roof, White with Black roof and Black with White roof. Inside the cabin, the XUV300 TurboSport gets all-black interior scheme with contrasting red stitching on the upholstery, and silver accents on the dashboard and steering wheel.

The Tiago EV is available in 4 trim levels – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux – priced between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered with two lithium-ion battery packs – 19.2kWh and 24kWh – with claimed range of 250km and 315km respectively. Tata is offering a warranty of 8 years and 1,60,000km on battery pack. With 19.2kWh battery pack, the electric motor produces 61bhp and 110Nm of torque. With bigger battery pack, the electric motor ofer 74bhp and 114Nm of torque. The higher capacity model is claimed to achieve 0 to 60kmph in 5.7 seconds.

Using a 50kW DC fast charger, the Tata Tiago EV battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 57 minutes. With a standard 3.3kW home charger, the EV’s 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs can be charged in 5 hours 5 minutes and 6 hours 20 minutes respectively.
