Tata Motors has announced that the Tiago EV bookings will start from 10th October at 12.:00pm. Interested buyers can pre-book the electric hatchback by paying a token sum of Rs 21,000 at any authorised Tata Motors dealership or online at the company’s official website. The model will be put on display across leading malls across major cities this month. While its test drives will begin in late December 2022, deliveries will start from January 2023 onwards.
The carmaker has already confirmed that the delivery date of the electric hatchback will depend on the variant, colour, booking time and date. The 24kWh battery pack variants have been prioritized for production, based on customer insights to match their expectations at the time of delivery.
Tata Tiago EV Preview
The Tata Tiago EV is the brand’s first electric hatchback that’s available in four trims – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux. The electric car is being offered with two lithium-ion battery packs – 19.2kWh and 24kWh, offering a claimed MIDC range of 250km and 315km respectively. Both packs and electric motor have IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. The company is providing a warranty of 8 years/1,60,000km on both of them. The e-hatch features Tata’s Ziptron technology that consists of a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. With the smaller and larger battery pack, the motor makes a top power of 61bhp and 110Nm of torque and 74bhp and 114Nm of torque respectively. While the former can accelerate 0 to 60kmph in 6.2 seconds, the latter can do the same in 5.7 seconds.
The company says that the Tata Tiago EV can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 57 minutes via a 50kW DC fast charger. Using a standard 3.3kW home charger, it’s 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs can be juiced-up in 5 hours 5 minutes and 6 hours 20 minutes respectively.
