Tata Sierra Concept (2)

Tata Motors had showcased the Sierra lifestyle SUV concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The concept was a pure electric model. The SUV could be launched in our market, but not anytime soon. In fact, Pratap Bose, Vice President, Global Design Tata Motors hinted that the Sierra could enter into the production model. Adding to it, the production Tata Sierra could be offered with petrol and diesel engine options.

Here is a video of the Tata Sierra concept directly from the Auto Expo, revealing all the details.

We believe that the next-gen Tata Sierra lifestyle SUV could be launched with off-road capabilities at a premium price tag. It is expected to be based on the OMEGA ARC modular architecture, which underpins the Harrier and the Gravitas. The new model is expected to measure above 4.3 meters in length.

This year, the company will launch the Gravitas 7-seater SUV during festive season. It is basically the stretched out version of the Harrier 5-seater. In terms of proportions, the Tata Gravitas is 4,661mm in length, 1,894mm in width and 1,786mm in height respectively. Compared to the Harrier, the SUV is 63mm longer, 72mm wider and 80mm taller. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Next year, the company will launch the HBX micro SUV. Adding to it, Tata Motors is also working on an all-new mid-sized sedan and an all-new mid-sized SUV.
