Tata Motors To Increase Nexon’s Production

On an average, Tata Nexon has been attracting 350 bookings per day.

Tata’s all-new entrant in the sub-compact SUV segment – Nexon – is enjoying a great demand in the Indian market. And proof of this lies in the fact that the compact SUV has registered 15,000 bookings in the last six weeks. In an average, the company has been receiving 350 bookings per day.

Considering the increasing demand, the waiting period of the car has also gone up. Currently, the compact SUV commands a waiting period of over three months. According to a MoneyControl report, Tata Motors will increase Nexon’s production in coming months. While the company aimed to produce 5,500-6,000 units per month, the average production of the Nexon stood slightly below 3,000 units in the last couple of months.Read – Tata Nexon Accessory List Revealed 

A senior executive of Tata Motors confirmed that “We accept that we could not ramp up Nexon production in the run-up to the launch of the vehicle and immediately after that. But those issues are getting sorted out now and we will go full speed ahead.”

Sporting Tata’s new IMPACT design philosophy, the Nexon comes at an introductory price of Rs 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Engine setup for the new Tata compact SUV includes – a 1.2L Revotron petrol and a 1.5L Revotorq diesel. While the former makes 108bhp with 170Nm of torque, the latter one delivers same power figure with 260Nm of torque. All variants of the compact SUV comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Nexon carline is spread across the four trims – XE, XM, XT and XZ. While the petrol model’s prices range between Rs 5.85 lakh – Rs 8.59 lakh, the diesel variants come in the range of Rs 6.85 lakh – Rs 9.44 lakh. Feature-wise, the new Tata compact SUV is a loaded machine. Some of the key features include a Harman sourced ConnectNext infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, grand central console with sliding tambour door mechanism, floating dashtop HD touchscreen and multi drive modes.
