Tata Nexon Handling Review

Price of the Nexon falls in the range of Rs Rs 5.85 lakh lakh for entry-level variant – Rs 9.44 lakh for top-end model (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Tata Nexon has probably been the most awaited vehicle from Tata Motors in a long long time, and it has been finally launched at an event in Mumbai. Priced between Rs 5.85 lakh – Rs 9.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Nexon is available in a total of 10 variants across petrol and diesel models. While it’s too early to comment if it will be able to topple its direct rivals, it surely has the potential to become a huge success story for the home-grown carmaker. We drove it in and around Kochi, and were mighty impressed with the way it performed. We found it to be the most rounded package in its category, thanks to its superior interior quality and power output figures.

So if you are one of those looking to buy the Tata Nexon, here are 5 interesting things you should know about it.

Video Review

1. Looks exactly like its concept

The car’s concept made its debut at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, followed by its rather close-to-production model at the 2016 Expo. And now that the car has been finally launched, we can safely say that the car has remained more or less similar to the concept – something that only a few carmakers have been able to achieve in the history of automobile. The car still looks like a concept, and that makes its design a stand-out. The Nexon is based on the same IMPACT design philosophy that made its debut with the Tiago, followed by the Tigor and the Hexa.

While there are several interesting elements, the ones that make it look unique include – Tata’s broad honeycomb grille with signature humanity line, projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, coupe-like roof line, triple tone rear, ceramic white stripes across body, etc. Read – Tata Nexon Vs Maruti Vitara Brezza

2. Best-in-class build quality & several standard safety features

The Nexon offers the best build quality in its category, thanks to the high-grade steel and plastic used for it. To enhance vehicle safety, the company is also offering dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution as standard fitment across all variants including the base. Read More – Tata Nexon Vs Honda WRV

3. Most premium cabin

Thanks to the great fit & finish and soft-touch material here and there, the Nexon offers the most premium cabin in its category. What further enhances its appeal is the fact that it offers several exciting features including a Harman-sourced infotainment system with a floating 6.5-inch HD quality touchscreen, multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, cooled glove-box, Android Auto + Apple CarPlay support, grand centre console with sliding tambour door mechanism, etc. Check Out: Upcoming Tata Cars in India

4. Most powerful car in the segment

Thanks to Tata’s new 1.2-litre Revotron petrol (3-cylinder turbocharged) and 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel (4-cylinder, turbocharged) engines, the Nexon is the most powerful car in its category. While the petrol engine produces 108bhp with 170Nm, the diesel is claimed to churn out 108bhp with 260Nm. Read About: Tata Tiago Aktiv | Tata Tiago Sport

5. First-in-segment multi-drive modes

Tata Nexon is the only sub-compact SUV in its class to have three driving modes – City, Eco and Sport – developed for different purposes. While in the Eco, one will get the optimum fuel efficiency, the Sport will offer the peppy performance.
